J.K. Rowling Writes about Her Reasons for Speaking out on Sex and Gender Issues

For people who don’t know: last December I tweeted my support for Maya Forstater, a tax specialist who’d lost her job for what were deemed ‘transphobic’ tweets. She took her case to an employment tribunal, asking the judge to rule on whether a philosophical belief that sex is determined by biology is protected in law. Judge Tayler ruled that it wasn’t.

J K Rowling

People much more eloquent than myself have written about how incredible JK Rowling’s current actions are. So I’ll keep it short and sweet.

Joanne Rowling is an incredibly talented women, who could not publish books under her own name because little boys wouldn’t read them. A women who has survived domestic violence. A women who understands how hard it is to be a woman in this world.

Her tweets aren’t rude, they aren’t violent, they simply point out reality. Sex is a real thing. Women are a class of our own.

And that’s enough for her to be attacked and cancelled.

She didn’t back down, and thankfully has enough ‘fuck you money’ that she can speak up for all of us who can’t currently.
